Default HELP???

Whenever I push the clutch I hear a strange and annoying noise. It doesn't matter if it's in gear or neutral, it's there and it's annoying. Even if I just push the clutch down an inch, I still hear the noise. It sounds like the sound that you hear when you turn the steering wheel all the way. I have 52,000 miles on my car. Can anyone tell me what this noise is? and what I have to do to fix it? Thanks!

Where is it coming from? Is it only when initially depressing the clutch, during it's full travel or the entire time it's depressed?

The noise is coming from the engine bay and if I am pressing the clutch, the noise is ALWAYS there

I'm wondering if it's related to the TSB for the tranny separator plate. IIRC, that was more of a buzz.

Goes away when the clutch pedal is release?.. I would say bad throwout bearing.. That's the usual suspect for a problem like you described.. Does it sound like marbles rattling?

Yes, the noise is not there at all if the clutch is not pressed. And it doesn't sound like marbles rattling.

Could be the crappy slave cylinder.
it's only rated for 80000 miles, but any kind of aggressive driving it could shorten the life. Mine was completely shredded @ 65K

btw..

TSB=Technical Service Bulletin
IIRC=If I Remember Correctly
FWIW=For What It's Worth (in case you see it)
