On my car I have a Pro 5.0 M2005 short throw shifter installed and I want to change the shift ****. I bought one from AMR and they told me that the thread on their **** is M12 X 1.25.

This **** doesn't fit on the Pro 5.0 shifter, and after some research it turns out that the threaded rod on the Pro 5.0 is M12 X 1.75 (standrard metric size if I'm not wrong). Can someone confirm that?

Apparently the only reason why it is working with my factory shift **** is because "The factory **** uses a nylon self-tapping thread"

If I get confirmation that the thread is actually M12 X 1.75 I might try to drill the **** and installed a helicoil with the right size in here, what do you think?

I used a thread gage and it turns out that the threaded rod is M12 x 1.75. THought I would share the info in case someone was wondering too!

 

How do you like the Pro5.0? I had one on my '99GT, but don't see many folks running them on the '05+...

 

I like it a lot! It is accurate and makes it really easy to shift (with the shorter travel...).
I would advise it to everybody compared to the stock shifter!
