Default MT82 Question

I'm swapping my 5r55s auto out for a MT82 manual. Only thing I'm worried about is the cross member. Will the MT82 cross member bolt up to my 06 gt body or can I use my current cross member from the 5r55s?

I'd look for a different tranny unless you've already bought the MT82. Read up on the issues over in the '11+ forums. Seems like the TR6060 or T56 are much better options - lots of those swaps have been done.

I agree with Hootie, if you're going to go through ball breaking of that swap put a real trans in.

I already bought the MT-82 it's in excellent condition no wear at all. I did consider a t-56 it was more than 2k more than what I have to spend. My car is only putting out 360hp currently and I don't have anything big planned for a while.

Old thread but how did this swap turn out? (If it did, of course)

I forbid you to ever consider putting an MT-82 in your vehicle.

Yeah...don't. They are garbage. I ended up scraping the project and went for a t56.

I haven't read very much positive about the MT82. Care to share what you found?
