Default Which tune to get

Ok so I have been reading a few post and ready to ask my questions. Hopefully is not too long. let m eknow if I should break this out.....

I bought a 2006 gt last year , it came with a CAI, some flow master exhaust and it was also dropped and some nice 18 in wheels. Im not sure if the car was ever tuned since i bought it from the dealer and never asked.

I saw a nice tuner from Diablo "trinity T1000" Now here my questionS

1. Is there a way to put back the car back to stock from teh factory? I watched a video from diable where the initial way to set it up is to back up the current tune/stock, but if it already had a tune is that considered the stock baseline?

2. I am planning on adding Long tube headers and an offroad xpipe. On the features the Diablo tuner had a tune for 91 octane and CAI, but didnt see one for exhaust. I read that a custom tune will be the best, but will the tuner save it on my device? or will he give something to bring it back to stock if I need to take it to the dealer or anythign like that?

3. In about 2 years I will be adding a supercharger, by then I figure i have to get it tuned at a dyno place. So will the diablo device be useless by then? just asking cause it 599.00 for that unit and trying to see if I should invent it in.

Thanks and hope I was clear on my questions.

You want to buy a tuner from www.brenspeed.com or www.americanmuscle.com. Diablo is not the go to either. Most tuners use sct.

American muscle will give you a new tune for the long tubes in the future, even if you don't buy the exhaust from them. That's the route I'd go.

The generic tunes on that diablo are not what you want. You want a custom tune from a real tuning shop like the two I mentioned.

The tuner will download the current tune and treat it as the stock tune. You most likely have a tune on the car or else it would throw an engine code. Post a pic of the CAI you have. There are only a few that don't require a tune.

Which supercharger? If you want a dyno tune, then the shop doing the tune would need the diablo software. That's why I recommend sct, because most shops use them. You don't necessarily need a dyno tune either. Brenspeed has very good tunes for the blowers they sell. They also write tunes for whipple superchargers. I'm using their tune.

I was going to go with the SCT tuner from American Muscle until I saw that they are carrying the new Diablosport InTune tuner w/ their free tunes for life. It's not a whole lot more expensive than the popular SCT device, but this seems like a bit nicer of an interface.

Go with STEEDA I just received my SCT tuner and Steeda tunes after a long ordeal with another tune. You will not be disappointed.

That's a pretty tuner, but mine spends most of it's life on the floor behind my back seat.

I will take a picture today. so I guess there is no way to bring it back to stock tune hah? not like I need to just wondering.

I checked the website www.americanmuscle.com. there a few different models for the 05-09 mustang for SCT and Diablo. Any big difference I should worry about?

I was thinking of a vortech supercharger, but haven't made up my mind yet, still a little while to go. I saw few SC kits with tunes already. Do they just overwrite whatever is on the car?

My very first tune and cai was from brenspeed. It was night and day from the stock tune. Eventually got a supercharger and went with another company for the tune because they did not deal with Roush at that time. It was a decent tune but did throw codes every month. Went back to brenspeed when they became a Roush dealer and my car is near perfect now. Their FI tunes are so spot on. They wrote me two different tunes for my racing. No datalogs, no codes, no dyno......all email and amazing.

SCT is the standard for our mustangs. I wouldnt bother with any other interface. The SCT device can hold a stock tune and 3 custom tunes. I swap out those two different tunes depending on what bracket I am racing in at my local track. Both are brenspeed tunes and have earned me first place trophies.

AM writes good tunes too, they are a very good company.

You should call both companies and ask questions. Chandler at brenspeed is very helpful. I have spoke to him and others there more times than I can count. They know and race mustangs.

Yep brenspeed is a great company but chandler has recently left brenspeed to sell RVs I believe. When u will call them it will most likely be the owner (Brent) with whom u will talk too. Great guy to deal with as well as chandler.

A dealer will load a stock tune for you, but they will charge you. You don't have the stock air box, so I wouldn't worry about needing the stock tune.

I would just get a SCT x3. It will download whatever tune is on the car and save it on the tuner as your stock tune. You then select the custom tune you want to upload. Brenspeed installs and tunes the vortechs, so they know those blowers inside and out. I would have no worries running a emailed vortech tune from them. If you buy the vortech from them later, they will take the cost of the tuner off the price, since you would all ready have one.
