Default 2009 GT w/ Vortech V3

Currently lookin at the Vortech V-3 Si-Trim w/ Charge Cooler tuner kit for my 09'GT. I have a few questions for those in the know.

1. I know the 09's have the CMP's molded into the intake manifold. My question is, will I have to get another manifold (Ford racing probably) or will the kit work with the stock CMP's no problem (I'd assume positive pressure would wreak havoc on those things).

2. Is the charge cooler version worth the extra $1200 or is there a better route I can go? Maybe with an aftermarket intercooler setup?

3. Will I need to upgrade my fuel system (injectors and pump). If so, what lb/hr am I looking for in an injector and should I go dual pump upgrade or just get a boost-a-pump for the stocker?

4. Can I increase boost on this system with a pulley swap+retune or does the centrifugal setup not allow for this like a twin-screw setup does?

Thanks in advance for the help... I am gettin close!

I think what I am looking for more is an answer as to whether or not I can run the vortech system without the charge cooler/fuel system upgrades (i.e. just a tune). Maybe with a smaller pulley for low boost (5lbs?)? Then when I get the cash to upgrade my fuel system and get an intercooler do that later.

I've got exactly $5k right now to play with so that kit puts me $1k over budget. Also, I'm probably going to have to take the car somewhere and get it tuned so...

The more I look at it the more I keep ending up on the KB 2.6 Stage 2 kit. The appealing part is that it comes with everything I need to install and tune.

That's basically what I have and I love it.

If you get it, install it yourself and just except you may have to buy a few tools. You will be happy you did.

Was there anything particular you had to buy for the install? I have a 10 drawer craftsman full of tools, various air tools, jack, jack stands, ramps, creeper... Typical reasonably stocked 2-car garage stuff.

I'm close, putting $100 a week into my car fund account and I have about $5k in there right now. Have a feeling after I go through the install the next thing I am going to need is wider rear wheels and tires.

I already have 18.9.5's with 275/40's on all 4 but when the tires are cold 1st doesn't grip at all basically and 2nd gets a good little spin. An extra 150+ hp is going to require more rubber.

I think I borrowed a grinder to cut a hole for the air intake. Other than that, basic tools was all that was needed. The instructions were good and well explained.

I had to shim my fuel rail as the 60# injectors did not fit correctly.

It really was not a bad install.

I have had to pull the blower off for various reasons several times. It's easy.

I think the most tedious part was wiring.
