I have a 2010 Mustang GT manual transmission car with 28K miles on it. It jumped out of gear while driving and had to be held in gear to be driven. Got it towed home only to find that the red bushings in the Hurst billet shifter were GONE. Both of them, the one in the front and the one in the back. The stock bushing in bottom arm is ok with no play. I replaced the Hurst bushings now the car will not go into gear and the shifter will only move a little bit. Did I pull the shift arm out too far or something? The car rolls fine with the clutch in. Only had the car for two weeks, no warranty from the dealer which is about 80 miles away. Help please
Dump that crap, get an MGW and hope it didn't damage the transmission. Hurst is milking it's reputation, but the best shifter, by far, is the MGW. Mine has been on the car for 10 years and still works like new.
The best shifters, by far, are the MGW and the Barton.
There. Fixed it.
I've been running the Barton on my GT for 2-1/2 years and I love it. Feels about the same as the MGW on a friend's GT but is even meatier. Can't go wrong either way.
why not just replace the whole trans? one here on CL brand new for 700$. I know most ppl don't have that kinda cash laying around, but it is an easier option. good luck
