Question Engine Cooling???

Are there any common cooling issues with this engine? Engine seems to run hot, temp gauge in normal range. Thanks

No common cooling issues as far as I know. As with any car, change the coolant every two years (Motorcraft Gold plus distilled water) and check the condition of all coolant hoses plus the drivebelt. Also make sure that the low/high speed fan operates properly, as its failure can cause the engine to overheat at idle or in slow traffic.

Thanks for your reply, this is my first Mustang, and I am just trying to check everything out. Can you hear the radiator cooling fan run, from inside the car??? Thanks

What year is the car? 05 through early/mid 06 had a different lower hose and thermostat configuration. It was updated in late 06/early 07 for efficiency.
