My 05 mustang GT has always had a raspy rattle to it after it it warms up and you can hear it when pressing the gas. It also has a slight knock to it when running sometimes. This video is of it it running

It's hard to tell from the video. You'll need a mechanic's stethoscope to localize the noise. If it's from the front end of one of the valve covers, the likely culprit is a broken cam phaser.

Thank you for your reply!
after the video I did get out and look and The noise was a lot more prevalent where the cam phaser and VCT solenoids are and everything up there has been replaced except for the cam phasers

Not tryin to be a dick, im really not, but why would you replace everything else and NOT replace the phasers with the upgraded ones, especially on an 05'? Define "everything up there". need more info

My mustang (manual with 125,000) mechanic said mine were fine and everything as in everything up there. Chain, cams, guides, sensors, lifters, rocker arms, VCTs but even after replacing everything I still have a raspy knocking sound when it warms up and I press the gas or come out of a gear So I’m left with just really the cam phasers and if that doesn’t fix it I don’t want to keep pouring money into it

I should have gotten them done while we were in there but I sadly just became aware that the phasers (like everything else in this engine) have issues 😪

If you get the phasers replaced, suck it up and get the OEM ones from Ford or from a ford authorized vendor. DO NOT get generics or Doorman brand, they tend to fail in pretty short order so you'd just end up with more problems.
