06 3v crank no start
hello all, got an 06 mustang gt 4.6
was at a red light, and i bogged out. crank no start. popped the hood to make sure everything was fine which it was, went back in to start it, she struggled for a sec but turned over. drove just fine. accelerated all the way to redline just fine. brought it home and turned it off to see if i could replicate the issue. now it will crank but no start. at first i realized i dont hear the fuel pump kick on. either way i had to go to work, then i learned about the inertia switch on driverside kick panel. i had the wife reset it, but it didnt click or anything. she stated " it felt like i was priming like a lawn mower or weed wacker". but now we hear the fuel pump. though she said it softly squeals now. primed the fuel system 3-4 times (key on and off).
i have not checked for any clogged yet. i have yet to really dig into the issue with me working overnight.
Learn me something lol

Start with the basic, fuel filter. Fuel pump fuse and relay. For the Relay, I believe it's a common one so, pick one for he AC or something that is the same one and swap them. See if the problem is fixed. If it is, then you know it's the relay. Next, check the fuel pressure. There's no port on these cars so, you'd have to remove the Fuel Pressure sensor on the drivers fuel rail and test it there.
So I took off the fuel rail pressure sensor and confirmed that there is fuel in there. I got it to start after it sat overnight. Got it up to about 150 degrees. Turned it off, can't get it to turn back over. Just cranks. And you can still hear the fuel pump kicking on. All fuses and relays seem ok.
Haven't gotten that far to the filter yet. I'm fairly certain in could be the crank position sensor. I got her to turn over while cold. But at avout 150F, I turned it off then tried again and wouldn't start. I'm definitely getting fuel cus you can smell it
I wonder if your CMCV (CMCP) plates in your intake are stuck closed? They are butterfly valves that are installed in the intake runners of your intake manifold and are electronically controlled by a motor and I believe a vacuum in the back of the intake manifold. They don't typically throw codes when they start sticking. The only way to inspect them is to remove the intake manifold. Do not simply delete/remove them unless you have a tune that is modified to run the car without them.
The motor that controls the plates usually starts to stick or the butterfly valves get really gummed up and start sticking or reducing airflow.
Here's the OEM manual to remove the Intake itself

Here's a pretty good vid on how to do it.
