Default That light?

What is the correct name or does it have a correct name, of the light on the top of the headliner, closest to the windshield and the rear-view mirror? I need a bulb for that and cannot find the name of the light nor the bulb size at any auto shop. Any one have the bulb size or know any info on it?

MAP light!! Okay, I'll try that if not a side marker for an 83 GMC 1500 will work? Good to know. No one at the auto parts knew the name of it so it was hard to look up.

Correct and it still probably won't work. Removed several out of junk cars none work. The switch in it corrodes. There is a plastic cap over it on backside take a dremel tool and remove the melted over plastic. Not too much. Then dismantle and clean the copper contacts. Reassemble and remelt plastic over with soldering gun. Works. Now to find time to paint the one I fixed.[red] and replace the black one in my car. Oh well I guess I can fix it also.

That should help. Has every light on the car, and some of those you can switch out for LEDs to help the battery out a little. I am thinking about going full LED except headlights so that when I get a radio and sound system my accessories won't pulse at idle...hate that.
