Engine swap
I have been a mustang lover my entire life. My dream car has always been a 1989 Mustang GT. Well, I finally almost have it. lol. I know alot of you are like "why would something that simple be a dream car?" I just love them. I ran into a really good deal this past weekend and scooped it up. I bought a 1989, but it is only a 4 cylinder. The reason I went ahead and bought it is because I have never seen an 89, lately, in such good shape. The interior and exterior is perfect. Almost like it just rolled out of the factory. My question is how much am I looking at spending to do a 5.0 engine swap? Just a ball park figure.
It really depends on if you can get all the parts cheap or not. But I would guess anywhere from $1000 ($400 for engine + trans, $200 for an 8.8, $400 for other little things like wiring, brakes, wheels, etc) To $50 000[8D]
Do you have a 4 cylinder. I really don't know a whole lot about them myself. I was reading some of the post on here and people are talking about put like 300 hp on them. It kinda sounds like bs to me, but then again I have no clue. lol.
I have a 2.3 turbo thats making about 180 right now (stock form running low boost for winter) The 2.3 N/A is a PITA to get 200HP, the 2.3 turbo is easy to get 300HP, all you need is an intercooler, more boost and timing
