Doing it on the MGB project. Mostly to fill a hole in dash where manual choke pull was.

the golf has one because a resistor burns out on my gen. of vw, and its way up in the dash,

easier to just rewire it all

The first button I bought was $8, and it lasted about 2 weeks until it broke, so the one thats in there now is some ricey one that was $35, it is illumitated (not hooked up because that would be too ricerish)

a wire from the positive terminal of the battery, to the switch, then from the switch to the engaging prong on the starter solenoid. the little stud with one wire attached.

My car is a 79 And doesnt have alot of wiring. So wiring anything up on that car is easy. I just tapped into the wiring that leads to the solonoid. Very easy, took me about 10mins or so to wire it, but it took me awhile to figure out where I should mount it.

The aftermath of it is, when you push the button without the ignition engaged nothing happens, and it will only work unless the key is in and turned to ignition.
