Default No Start Problem!

Hi all,

First off I want to clarify that I am new to these forums and quite a newbie at working on cars as well, so I'm open to all suggestions and if you notice something in my process was wrong I would love to know what.

So I have an '86 2.3L Mustang and was trying to fix a parasitic drain that was killing my battery when something went wrong... I pulled all the fuses under the steering wheel yet something was still pulling about 3.9 amps. I proceeded to unplug the alternator and then the amperage dropped off to zero. I figured that I had found the problem then. But when I plugged the alternator back in to check if it would draw current again, nothing was being drawn. So I put all the fuses back and tried to start the car and nothing. None of the lights come on no warning buzzes or anything. When I try and start the car it sounds as if there's not even a battery in, it makes absolutely no noise. I recharged the battery in case it had died, but still nothing. I checked and rechecked the alternator wires that I had pulled but they were back on fine, and the fuses are back where they were.

Needless to say I am very confused. Everything is how it was but now my car won't start even with a fully charged battery. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance!
