Default Looking for a little advice

I have a 90 mustang 2.3 with an automatic. It's been running great until last weekend. We were running down the interstate and it started to lose power until it quit. It still turned over and acted like it wanted to start but would not stay running. I did this approximately 20 times and then it took off and ran fine for about 5 miles and did it again. It happened one more time and it ran great until we got home which was about 100 miles. I left it set for about 5 minutes and tried to start it and it did it once more. Each time it loses power and chugs for a while like it's starving for gas. I pump the throttle but it does not seem to matter. I am just looking for a strating point and some ideas.
Thanks
Jim

Check the fuel filter, tank, lines, etc, for dirt! If one of these is clogged it should run out of gas in wide open acceleration & possibly run better at slow even speeds. Good luck!
