svo problems...
um ya... the inside is the same... i changed to filter and drove it... it worked for sure... it runs a consistant 14 pounds without stuttering until you get to 3rd gear... in 3rd at hig rpms it does it alittle but not even close to as it was before... so maybe regulator... and the fuel pressure gauge i put in stoped working... so cant look at that till i get another one to test it... but it doesnt leak anything at all... there are papers in the car which makes me belive it has under 100,000 miles on it... it says 73,235 but i dont think the turbo would of lasted this long with 173,000... and the papers from it being serviced are showing under 100,000 miles...
I don't know about that mine is 139,000 motor put in valve seals and headgasket. The rest been done to outside of motor. Now has 12,000 more on it since in mustang. Since svo probably is under 100,000
The SVO has many differences in the interior. They have their own color, the dash panels have a different textures, the gauge cluster is a bit different, the seats are specific, all kinds of things.
Put a fuel pump in it. Thats your problem. Dont mess around with modding it with the stock fuel pump. Thats how you blow headgaskets and melt pistons. Get yourself a walbro GSS340 pump. If you have the dual pump setup, search turboford.org on how to convert it to a single, in tank pump setup. I run that pump, base pressure of 40psi (adjustable regulator) and 24psi of boost (right now anyways), and it never hiccups, ever.
The turbo will last the life of the car, there has been people pushing 220,000 before their turbo let go. Its all in how you care for it, and drive it.

ok cool... it was the pressure regulator... while at the races i took the vacuum line to the regulator off the intake and closed the line and ran it just fine... we ran 12 pounds to be safe... i took two mid 90's 4.6 stangs and the 5.0 get me by about half a car... and we got the takeoff down so it will boost of the line...
