Tell them stanggirl. He can replace hose legally if it is [ empty]. But to stay legal in US and I think Canada a certified tech will have to vacumn and recharge. If not emply Tech will have to recover freon. I am EPA certified for refrigeration for everything except Automotive. Have Masters in HVAC and Electrical in KY. So I do know what I am saying. Mine was empty and took to tech friend to do he owed me a favor on some ice machines I fixed for him. So don't know cost.

Well it looks like my system was converted to R-134 and it has a bad valve. I found my problem now, I wonder if my A/C pump is still good[&:]
