EEC Question
Sounds good . Front suspension is I- beam if not mistaken. Not the greatest for handle. Got a article somewhere using an old dodge Volara type K-member under a ford of your vintage. If interested let me know and will try to look it up. Are you close to KY would love to see. Keep going and keep us posted.
If you want good handling, spring big for a hiedt's (?) tubular mustang II front susp. which will be custom made for that year of truck. All complete, will be like 1300 or something. It is tubular independant front susp. so it will shave lots of weight, and provide massive handling, with 5 lug discs up front.
Also, the 2.3T has more power than the flat head v8 too, if i remember. I think it was like a 200 horse motor tops. But, it had lots of bottom end, unlike the 2.3T. Just need to get a turbo coupe t5(super low geared), and new cogs in the back end of that puppy. Problem solved. Plus giving her 3.73's or 4.11's should improve fuel economy, over having those 3.02's or what ever it was.
Keep us all posted.

Yeah that swap sounds good, however I know if I convert it to a mustang II suspension, It will be lower, and I don't want to lose the functionality of the truck, I don't plan on racing this truck, just want it as a "parts getter". But yeah if you can send me the Voltare swap link, I would appreciate it. Also the truck has one I beam across and two leaf springs in the front, not the twin I beam that the later trucks had. Now I need to find a LA3 or a PE computer, anyone have one for sale?
Uhm, the MII susp. shouldn't hinder your parts getter ability, because with really heavy springs, it should keep the 'stockish' height, and better ride. You primarily want your back end susp. to be the same, to carry load, and like I said parts getter, and pulling a trailer are usually different.
Hell my 90 ranger xlt 2.3 5spd 2wd is a parts getter. It has weak front end, and rear end susp. and still works great for hauling hay to horses, and other minor tasks. The most load I've put on it, with the bad susp. was 350 lbs, and it was pretty squated down. Almost bottomed out. But, it is only rated for 500lbs load, with good susp. lol
