Default Two problems...

1, my fuel gauge and speedometer seem to be off. (fuel gauge is almost on Empty when there are 6 more gallons of fuel left.....)

Speedometer's needle wobbles during any acceleration.

2, my car shuts itself off when the car is sitting for a while (example, long red light). This happened last night at a red light by my house and i had to turn on the hazards and tell the person behind me to go around my car because it had stalled. The battery is fairly new, as is the negative post on the battery ( I think). after the car turns off by itself and i try to turn it back on, the amp light turns on. However, whenever i drive the car the voltage meter shows normal voltage, and nothing wrong. maybe ANOTHER gauge problem?

i just don't want my car to turn itself off anymore while I'm going somewhere.... Very frustrating.

On speedometer sounds like cable needs lube. On car shut off. My best guess is the tfi on the distributor. Ford is well know for this problem. Company I work for replace several for same reason years ago. Don't seem to be problem now. All have been replace. If you replace don't forget the heat conducting paste to put on it or you will buy another soon.

Pull the cat off if you don't have emissions testing.

My cable does the same thing to me as well and I'm off about 6mph

if u replace the sending unit, DO CHANGE THE FILLER NECK GROMMET, if not it will leak when you fill your tank up. btw for it stalling out, have you tried cleaning the IAC yet?

Nope... what does IAC stand for haha sorry i'm such a newbie...... [&:]

I know what it is spelled backwards though

I've driven at least 45 miles since tank fill up and the fuel gauge still has the needle up by full. Weird.
