Default knock sensor

how do i go about unhooking the knock sensor, and if i do and leave it unhooked, will it hurt my engine any? remember i got a 92 lx with EDIS ignition.

uh yeah, it retards the igintion 20 degrees when it feels a knock or whatever....im not very litterate today.

Why would you leave it unplugged? It's there to protect the engine.

Turbo people unplug it. Because it sometime hears knocks when there is now. And yes it protects the motor. I don.t know if there is any advantages to unplugging it. But I can see on a na where there is a disadvantage.

there is only one disadvantage to unpluging it and that is, if you where to "ping" or some other harmful thing happends inside your engine that would cause a vibration nothing will happen to try and stop it. but really once something harmful does happen the damage is pretty much done, the timing is retarded to hopefuly stop further damage regardless of the sevarity. sorry about my grammer and spelling thats just how i type[8D]. your knock sensor should be located on you upper half of you intake manifold just above the gasket, i think it points tward the radiator.

Here you go on a turbo motor. Only sensor that just threads into the intake that has no contact with antifreeze or air. It just threads into a hole with a bottom.
