Default pulling the engine

Well I wanna pull out the engine + tranny in my car, BUT I just want that tranny i rebuilt. I dont wanna jack the thing up and go thru all that bs, I'd rather have everything out and easy to get to..then just grab thenew tranny and starter,BUT is there anyway to pull the engine without a hoist? I dont have one, and I dont wanna spend the money to rent one..

Use an A-frame and a chain hoist. Worked for my dads 57 chevy a few years ago

I mean what do I unbolt? What is the engine connected to? I'm just gonna cut the front end off with a sawzall and cut all the wires and stuff
