project stangaroo
i have a 1993 mustang lx 5 speed which i plan on doing alot to. i plan to fix up the exterior, get it painted, put a nice stereo system in it, and in the near future do a turbo or 302 / 351 swap. i want to turbo it but my mind keeps going back and forth lol. i have some pics so far, i have replaced the hood. and it has a cold air intake. it needs little things right now like an ICM, a couple pieces of interior like a headliner but im not too worried about the interior yet. it needs the speedometer cable greased because i cant stand the fluttering in low mph's but thats just personal preference lol. only thing im missing on the exterior trim is the molding piece that runs through the middle passenger fender. has a couple very minor rust spots but besides paint stratches it has a pretty good exterior for 15 years old. i plan on painting it either black or dark blue with maybe white racing stripes but i have to get the estimate first. im taking it to the shop hopefully tomorrow to get an estimate for paint.

btw it will be a dd. and there is a little bit of work that needs done, a couple rust spots and that but not really too much. is it hard to prep myself? i was thinking about it but i thought it might be too hard.
yeah. well the system isnt on the top of my list, and my buddy has a complete system for me if i want to get it whenever. its not really crazy at all but i heard it and it sounds really good, even really loud. its the system he had in the car when he owned it. either eclipse 5341 or a pioneer DEH-P5200. 2 10" duals in a dual enclosure, then four speakers for the interior but neither i or him know the brands. WMA-EB6904 for the 5"-7"s and WMA-EB6203 for the front speakers. clarion APX2120 amp to power it. i havent negotiated the price but i know this equipment isnt very expensive at all so i was thinking around 150-250 for it all and he'd help me install it. i went to maaco today and got an estimate on the work. 600 bux for the prep work and thats them installing my fenders and removing all rust, adjusting the hood and so forth, and then 499 for the paint job plus 100 for a color change. thats with a four year warrenty. it starts at 249 and then 399 then 499 and then 999 for the paint options. i plan to drop the price a little on the prep work if i can by doing it some myself. whats listed on the invoice is
install both fenders
hatch rust bottom lip
adjust hood
front bumpers scratchs and fill lic plate holes
left quarter little bit of rust
left fender rust on inside
rear panel rust behind lic plate
that totals 657.62
the hood is on there for 2 hours and thats a hundred bux but doesnt really need adjusted, or wont take that long if they do.
