You should just start tearing down your motor a day or two before you get the heads so when you get them you can just throw them on and put it back together.

I would change over your timing chain to a double roller. I would also replace your lifters. It they are stock, definatly. Make sure you follow the directions, I think if I remember correctly you have to soak them in oil before you install them.

the engine, for the most part, is stock, but its a remanufactured one, put in a year ago. were you saying to change them because the factory lifters are inadequate, or because they might have been worn out due to age¿
do i have a mechanical or hydraulic flat tappet¿¿
does the double roller timing chain run on a non roller block¿
