Default Fox AOD transmissions

Was there a difference in the AODs from 79-93? I found an '83 3.8L Mustang with an AOD in it. I'm curious... is the transmission just as strong as my '88 AOD. & what about the gearing.

the flexplate is probably diff..converter will probably be junk...

its weaker

also has 7.5 rearend instead of 8.8 so driveshaft might to be replaced not sure

i think it uses a Kickdown cable for that year. the newer ones are the ones with the TV cable since the older ones use a carb. and i doubt they are anywhere near strong
