Replacing steering column

Replacing steering column
My factory steering column snapped on my '93 stang. Actually, the U-Joint snapped, I can still drive it fine but the steering wheel wabbles a little in the center. According to the chilton's manual it should be a pretty easy swap: 1) detach from firewall, 2) detach from steering box 3) reverse process to install. Should I stick with factory part or will a 3rd party part be cheaper, better, or easier to install? Also, does anyone have any experience doing this and if so do you have any advice? Thanks a bunch in advance for any info you can offer.

RE: Replacing steering column
I've never done this particular swap but I think you'll be ahead using Ford parts from Ford dealer.
Also, you are aware that there is a wiring harness involved with a total swap-out so stay with the same year to avoid to much strangeness........
