tomorrow I am buying a 89 gt 5.0 from a guy, and when I ran the vin through carfax it came back as a cobra. Did they make a cobra in 89? If so what other years did they make it?

 

nope, you messed up the letters somehow. first svt cobra was in 93

 

I double checked the numbers. I got the full history and it says its clean all the purchasers were in hawaii. And it still says 89 GT Cobra.

 

i herd the gt's in canada were "cobra's" i dont know...

 

That's correct - in Canada they were sold as 'GT Cobra'

I don't know why Carfax would report it as such, unless they just do it across the board.

all of the above are correct there was never a gt cobra in the us. gt, lx,cobras are all diferent packages and do not apaer on the same car in the us, cobras dont even say mustang on them, not a mustang cobra just a cobra.

 

Maybe something to do with the 25th anniversary?
