Default AOD question

Need help.

Picked up an 89 LX someone had put a carburated 302/AOD in. Price was right. Transmission shifts fine, just waits until 3000 rpm to shift gears. Upon closer inspection, it looks as if the AOD is electronic controlled and yet no wiring feeding it.

What do I need electronics wise to make this thing tick, or am I better off getting a different tranny?

aod is not electronically controlled. there is a tv cable that controls the internal pressure depending on throttle position.

I was wondering about the TV cable. I didnt see anything, so wondered if it had an AODe in it.

On the pan it just says Automatic Overdrive Metric.

It supposedly has a shift kit in it, but with out a TV cable or something electronic it wouldn't know when to shift short of pressure, correct?
