Whats the best year? 87-93?
IM looking to buy a fox soon, so Whats the best year for one from 87-93? I dont like the look of the 86's, All I know is that the 93s didnt have forged internals, but other than that I dont know anything about them... I grew up around GM.
What are some advantages and disadvantages to each? It will be a modded daily driver, And It will probably see some track time (and of course Ill toy around with some hondafags)
Oh yeah, and Whats the difference between an LX and a GT? I heard the LX might save money on my car insurance because its not a GT
Thanks
Jim

I own a 90 Coupe.
It really depends on how serious you want to get. Once you race the car your surly want some upgrades.. speed is like drugs.
The Four eye cars were actually lighter in weight. The 1994 SN95 gained even more weight.
Power anything means weight. Rule #1. for every 100 lbs = .01 and 3 Mph. Also it's not just weight but in the right places. Billy Gliddens car has a weighted rear bumper.
Mass air is good ... but most to kill FI units use Speed Density. Speed Density has a look up table so you can dedicate a A/F ratio. Speed density works in a Turbo/Supercharger applications.
To answer your question I'd say 1988/9 Coupe. No air bags, lighter then the 3door and lighter then the GT. GT ground effects = weight. As far as engine I'd install a 406.. rule #2. Cubic Inch Rules.. Why I built a 545 ci engine for my car.
As far as Collectors.. look for T-top or any cars with factory Black Interior. I'd stay away form the Verts because of Chassis Flex and weight.
Best of Luk and when ya buy post a pic!
