Default Steering Problem?

Well everytime I turn my car to the left, or fast to the right it creaks. I know the p/s pump is loud but its not supposed to creak like that... My two guesses are a bad or getting bad ball joint, or tie rod. How can I check this to see what the problem is? Its not affecting my driving, but its just getting annoying to keep hearing it creak all of the time. Thanks in advance

Jack up each side of the car. Separate the tie rods from the spindles. Now swing the spindle back and forth to see if the noise is there or not. This will help isolate the location. Also w/ the tie rods out of the spindle, grab the rod end w/ your hand and see how freely it moves. There should be resistance but still be able to be moved by hand. If you can't move it, that's prolly the source of the noise.
