first car?
Hi, I was wondering if you guys would think a 5.0 would be a good first car?? I start my job Monday and hopefully I am gonna buy a car by the end of the summer time. I am kinda worried about the rwd in winder, cuz I live in Boston we have some pretty bad winter some times. Is that somethings that just wintertime's would fix? Also I kinda jus started learning about mucle cars, I used to like them but then drifted off the euros for a while, needless to say I came back to mucle cars. i have two mustang books I am currently reading, one is mustang 5.0 technical reference and performance handbook, the other one is how to tune and modify your 5.0 mustang. I was thinking it would any a good first car cuz parts seem to be cheap and easy to find, and it seems fixing and moding them seem to be easy to do yourself. One thing that kinda had me confused is when they talk about maffs like 70mm 75mm are they measure the size of the piping the maf goes in that connects to the throttle body or is it measuring the accualy maff? proly a stupid question but its Ben confusing me. Also do u think a stang could be a good car for auto xing? If I get one the first thing I plan on doing when I get the money is handling stuff, like shocks/struts, springs, supreme connects ect. Also do u think there good reliability? I have read a lot of people past 200k modded. Also if you could post some site that's sel parts for 5.0s or tech articles or anything that good to learn about 5.0s with. I will poorly think of more stuff to ask later

I think the 5.0 mustang is one of the BEST cars you could choose for your first car. The down side is that they dont get great mileage and as you said they arent too great in the snow. Now having said that they are VERY easy to work on(especially compared to imports, but even compared to other american) and easy to find good cheap parts for. There is about a billion ways to modify one to fit your driving style. I had an Acura as my first car, and if i could go back and could afford it i would have made it a mustang instead. also Corral.com is a good site. Good luck and hope you get what you are looking for!
and also does a 5 lug converse do anything performace wise, or just so u can use 5 lug rims?
