My younger brother is working on an engine swap for his 89 mustang 5.0. He bought a rebuilt 5L, but found out it is from an older bronco. I need to find out what we need to do in order to change the firing order, and any other changes, i.e. cam swap, in order to drop this motor in and work with all of the fuel injection/comp stuff in his car.

Thus far the engine has:
302 bored to 306
351 edelbrock heads
bbk ssi intake
70mm throttle body
70mm maf sensor
24lb injectors

Haynes repair manual list out the different firing order for a 5.0 vs. the mustang HO 5.0

good place to start.

 

Yeah I got that far, I know the different orders, I just dont know how to change them.
I appreciate it though.

Is there any other way besides changing the cam?
