my buddy has a 89 stang, but the dash only reads 85mph. he just got one that reads 140mph if he puts it on the will the speed still be the same or no. what will he need to do if it doesnt read right. i know there has been a post about this but i cant find it.

did he just get the overlay or the whole speedometer itself? if its the whole thing it should be right, if not he will need to have the speedometer calibrated

the way the pic is thats what im talkin bout. thats all he took nothing else. but the car came with the 85mph and he got the 140mph one and hes just goin to put that on. so hes goin to replace the 85 with the 140. dont know what an overlay is. will it read correctly or no. he got the 140 speedo from a car that he bought for parts so if it dont read correctly he can just get it from there but im not sure what all we need to get if this dosent work.
