Default Cooloing Problems

93 Mustang GT V-8 5.0. My question is whats the normal operating temp for my car. Also I want to switch to an electric fan but I tried the infamous Blag Magic rated at 2800 CFM and another fan rated at 2950 CFM but they didn't cool the car put back on the factory fan and fan clutch the cars temp. is right before the half way mark. Any ideas. I heard something about a Mark 8 fan does anyone know what year to pull the fan from and how do you wire it is it true the Mark 8 pulls 4000 or better CFM Please any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Until you have an accurate coolant temp gauge; you will nnever know if "halfway" is hot or normal. I live in Southern California, go up mountains in 100+ degree heat, have tons of mods for 300 horses at the tires, & only have a Taurus fan that gets the job done easily. I would recommend a better radiator; a three core copper\brass unit that has a core as wide as the tanks(about 2") would increase coolant capacity greatly. I can confirm the Mark8 fan as being considered the best\ highest cfm rated factory Ford fan to get your hands on. Go here for more info: www.dccontrol.com

I have a 91 Mustang GT that I just replaced the stock radiator with an all aluminum one and the Temperature does'nt go past the second notch from the bottom on the Temperature gauge.
