Default Chugging problem

I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. I have an 88 GT with the basics, intake, header, exuast. I am having a problem with the car chugging while accelerating. It feels as though it has lost much of the power behind it. I have heard it might be running rich? any suggestions?
