Default fuel issue....

well when my car gets warm or semi hot the car just wont start. I think my new engine runs hotter, and a sensor is bad somewhere. I know its a fuel issue because you can tell it just refuses to give the car fuel. When i shoot starter fluid into the intake manifold the car starts right up. When the car is cold however, it always starts up fine. Does anyone know what sensor this might be or any other ideas?

ummm... how about giving me a bit more information... like... what's your fuel pressure at idle and key on, engine off, what is your relative injector flow rates and your fuel system leak down test... what is your baro pid reading... what are your fuel trims (short and long term), are your o2s switching with your short terms?

You check ur fuel pump relay? Had same prob in my explorer. Replaced the relay, fixed it. It would even cut off going down the road. Left me stranded a couple of times [>:]

Yeah, I'm sure he's gonna' understand that! How about some english for him, I'm sure he's not a rocket scientist!!

Maybe the fuel pump is giving out when it gets hot. Next time you start the car when hot, cycle the key on and off about three times and then see if it starts right up. If it does, most likely the pump is bad. Also when was the last time the f/f was changed?

hey, if you're going to ask a generic question then expect a generic answer, right?

yea the timing was way high, it was probably that. One other question i didn't really get the car tuned yet, and the computer brings up the code saying the tps voltage is incorrect for the amount of air going into the engine. Could the tps voltage being wrong cause the idle to become higher than it should be after driving the car for a while, and make the car not want to drop rpms?
