Default Just ordered my new fan.

Well it's not NEW but it's new to me. I just ordered an electric fan out of a Mark VIII. Supposedly it is the best fan out. Even better than aftermarket fans. From what I can see that is true. It is said to flow 4500 to 5000 cfms on the high setting. Does anyone have any experience with this fan? How do you like it? How did you connect it to your radiator? And do you know how to wire it up? Preferably on a manuel switch. Thanks for any help any of you can give me.

That was really helpful. Thank you very much. That helps with how to get it working. Just hope it fits after the money I spent.

this is a taurus fan. its similar to the mark fan. i use a dccontroler. works great, couldn't ask for more.

i ran a manual switch for a while but got tired of it quick. if you have the stock alternator you will kill it with a manual switch.

You are the MAN. That was exactly the pics I was hoping for. You have a 3 core radiator and everything just like me. That's good. And it's good to see that you shifted all the way to the side because that's what I have to do, because of the downpipe. Where did you get the DCcontroller and how did you secure the bottom?

What kind of Power gain do you get from that fan? I always am tempted to let it ripp half way up the temp because it is noticable faster. Imagine a fan could keep the heat down. What does the engion perfer?

the bottom is secured with those push through strap things.

you drill a hole through the fan shroud, push the strap through the shroud and radiator and put a locking cap on the end. you can get them at autozone.

note that the overflow tank is not in the pictures. it attaches to the side of the shroud. it fits like its mean to be.

the controller came from dccontrol.com. you want part number fk-35. its about 110 dollars but worth every penny.

if you have any questions about it post back, i have had one for about a year now.

don't remember gaining much hp from the fan...maybe a little bit in the upper rpms. either way its a good upgrade.

do you have a bigger alt? youll need it for a fan like that. mines rated for 4000cfms and it sucks power down constantly when its on. i have a 150amp alt and at idle voltage still drops to 13v when it turns on....normally i idle at 14v. also, do not use a 50amp relay that a lot of fan kits come with. i dont know what the dc control has but its supposed to be good. after melting plenty of 50amp relays and blowing fuses because of it, i finally just bought a 200amp relay that works amazing
