i found that if i goose the gas my car runs fine untill 2200 rpms then it takes off. its a good thing but shouldn't it do it early lke when you goose the gas pedal . why does it do that

so ur sayin u floor it and untill it reaches 2500 rpm's thats when u feel the power?

the stock 302 makes tons of low-end torque and increases all the way up to about 4000 rpms

you sure you havent changed the cam/heads or maybe the previous owner has?

 

sounds like mine. if i punch it its kinda a dog from idle to 2k but when u get around 2k it kicks big time but i have a cam.

 

how do i tell if i have a cam . i dont think so . i think its just stock. mine sounds just like what tims said . the power kicks in around 2k. could it be timed too much
