i was looking at getting a set of BBK shorty header for my 83 GLX 5.0 and i was wondering would 86-93 headers bolt up to my car.

yes, they will bolt up to the engine. I am not sure about the exhaust though. If you are going that far I would get a h-pipe/x-pipe 2.5" I have the summit one and I'm very pleased.
