Default shocks

would putting lakewood 90 10 drag shocks in the back of my 94 mustang gt help traction and launching as much as they say?, cuz im gun put sum cheaper springs in the back of it soon and mine as well change those while im back there, the person before put sum big springs that jacked up the back end. im just going to even it out.

90/10's are for the front. YOu wouldnt want those in the back. YOu want 50/50's back there to evenly plant the tires. Up front the 90/10's at a launch, push 90% of the cars weight on the rear tires. 10% stays on the front. And those shocks are going to make the front end almost touch the ground under hard braking. And the fronts going to want to bounch sorta over bumps.

ive heard good things about the Lakewood 90/10's. Um, ive also heard that adjustable shocks are the way to go. Its all personal preferance i guess. I see guys with both Lakewoods and high dollar adjustable's both running quick times.

Personally, id just go with some 4 banger springs. They work great and theyre cheap. Like $50 a pair for the front. I run 4 cylinder springs up front, and in the rear i have 1 1/2 BBK lowering springs, i had them in the front to, but i took them out in favor of the 4 banger springs. My car launches really nice. Im about to drop the money for the 90/10's also. But you want soft springs in the front and really firm springs in the rear. Lowering springs are prob some of the stiffer springs. Thats why i left them under my rear.

WRONG, the 90/10 refers to the re-bound/compression rate of the shock.
Call Summit and ask them........
If you are ever driving the car on the street, you DO NOT want 90/10's on it.50/50 on the rear would be ok.....

Well yea...What Tinman said.
You dont want those for the street driven everyday driver. Unless your just going to drive the car to the corner store to pick up a pack of cigarettes once in awhile or something like that. I dont really care. Ive driven a couple cars with drag racing set ups, and they're arent terrible if you dont drive like a maniac like 50mph around corners, etc. Its mainly the braking, if you have to hit the breaks pretty hard, the front tends to want to tuck under pretty hard and sometimes wants to pull to one side. Over bumps they kinda bounce alot because the shock cant control the spring rate so the front keeps bouncing after you hit the bump. Thats what shocks do, they keep the car under control, if your car only had springs and no shocks, the car would just continue to bounch up and down after you hit the bump. The shocks control this. 90/10's let the front end rise very quickly and keep it there. Good for getting lots of weight to the back tires. I had some suspension articles i'll have to try and find for you.

I run lakewood 90/10 struts on the street, with no problem.
when braking hard, ya the nose almost touches the ground, and bumps arent that bad.
just dont expect it to go around a 90 degree corner doing 80.

they made my car have a smoother ride than the 15 year old stock pieces.
