Paint question
Recently my mustang was abused by some Ahole in my school jealous of my car. My car is modded with a 347stroker BBK equal length headers off road H pipe, flowmaster thunder exhaust and a nice yellow pearl paint job. Well yesterday afterschool i was walking to my car to see it was keyed down both sides(headlight to tail) a few dents that appear to be made with a fist and they broke off my passenger side mirror. I'm not so much into body work so i was wondering if there is a way to repair the key marks and dents without having to do a complete repair(sand fill etc etc) any suggestions?
well first off....heres the first thing you need to do...you need to find out who did it and beat the living **** out of their car with a 5lb hammer. I have a similer experience and i found out who did it...they drove a Turbo'd CRX...well....i took a 32oz Louisville Slugger to their car and let me tell you...no more windows, no more mirrors, no more nice straight body panels. I made it so his resell value went even lower than he started with.
But thats all i have to say...body work is a pain in the ***.

oh trust me, if i find out, im going to break there fingers then there ride with the same sledge hammer but im dreading sanding down this car that hasn't been finished for less then a week
Assuming the car is base/clear (and not single stage) you would need to look closely at the scratches. If they are really close to white then you still have some clearcoat on there and they can be carefully buffed out (usually). If they are closer to the body color then it's through to the basecoat and you need to repaint (or at least reclear the body panel).
If it's single stage (where paint color comes off when you polish it) then you need to try buffing it and see if you burn through (go through the paint to the primer).
Dents can usually be repaired by a knowledgeable dent repair service such as Dent Wizard or Dent Magic, etc. There should be a few in the yellow pages of your local major city. If the dents are more creased or you can't get to the back of them then you may be out of luck. You'd be surprised what a good dent guy can fix.
Good luck,
Mark

2 parts of the scratchs are down to the metal, and 2 parts of them are not as deep, its just really sad that i spent close to 3,000 on a paint job and less then a week later this ***hole keys it
it was such a nice paint job too, pearl yellow with ghosted images of the pony down the sides and when the light hit the ponies they looked as if they were on fire but NOO now my ponies have a line through them
i filled a police report but the area of the US im in the cops are a joke. Since i was in a school parking lot they can't do so much either cept tell me they are sorry..and yes my insurance will the dents to be repaired but they wont repaint the car to what it was, said something about the price of the paint job was out of the limits or something stupid like that.
