Default Cam and Lifter Set

My distributor Finally gave out and when it did it took out my cam as well...now my engine is getting rebuilt and i only have $300 dollars to spend on parts...i allready bought an all gasget set to change all of them at once...but i need help finding a cam and lifters for under $250..is there any way that someone could help me find the best parts for that price...i tried summit catalog but i dont know which one would be best...any comments and tips are greatly appriciated!!!

holy crap. DITCH that air cleaner when you get some more money. Seriously, you're choking your car.

As far as cam, looks like it's a stock motor except the carb on top, any mods? What do you want, power? I've got an F303 and I like it, but others don't like the FMS cams at all due to them not being dual pattern cams.

Jegs has a bunch of different Comp cams with lifters and assembly lube for $180 or so.

Ever since I read GMKiller's thing at the top of this section about swapping from EFI to Carb I've been thinking more and more about it. How do you like your setup?

you can find used cams for about 100.00 but good used lifters are a lil harder to find

Umm, if that is your car in the picture there....why is it not fuel injected?

The engine was getting built for drag...the guy sold it to me had some financial problems and had to sell it..i paid 2 grand for it...as far as the engine goes it has been bored out to be a 5.7 and all internals have been replaced along with a nice side of polished ports again it's a 1990 crate engine. About ditching that air filter what would you suggest replacing it with?
