RE: Nitto?
well it depends......for drag racing, the radials arent that great, but i see nothing wrong with the 555's for handling and stuff. ive heard nothing but good things about them as far as handling

NITTOS
read between the lines....lol, just playin.
i have never seen a good 60' from nitto 555's
i just cut 1.75's on my mickey thompson drag radials though, the only guy i saw there w/ nittos was cutting 2.2's, i used to cut 2.0's on regular street tires.
all i can say.
oh, and on my et street bias-ply's , i also cut 1.7's, so the mickey dr's are just as good

Best 60 I've put down is a 1.9. Although I'm no pro drag racer. They are good for the street and will last longer than other dr's. That's about it. They will fair well in the rain where the M/T's and the BFG's will not.
I have had them on my car for almost 3 years now and prolly about 10K on them. Still some decent tread left on them.

thats the differance. There not as sticky as BFG or some other brands but they are all around good tires and they last alot longer then any other drag radial. My BFG's only lasted 6 month so I'm also going with Nitto's next.

I'm pretty sick of hearing how the nitto drag radials are bad tires. Its either the driver or the car if u dont have good times with them. A professional drag racer i know uses them and he cuts 60' times almost as good as he does with slicks, For the price and how long they last there is nothing wrong with that as far as i can tell.
On the other hand, i think the regular 555 tires are crap. Mine and everyone i knew with them all had dry rotting problems after about a year of owning them, and their performance dropped off the end as well. Brand new 555s on my friends '03 GT gave him horrible understeer as the front end just drifted out without holding the turn, i'm not too impressed...
But I'd buy the 555Rs again in a second. great tire, great price.

Had mine for almost 3 years now and there still in good shape. Depends on the driver, Burnouts = bald tires fast.
Love em in the rain, well before the SC.
I need better tires now, im looking at the BFG's T/A's. I can get 275/40s for bout 200 bucks each.
