fuel pump replacement question
alright, So I thought I should change my fuel pump, sweet idea right??
Okay, well, I get it in, get the tank up and I start it up, it ran, but there was a leak. So I take the tank back down (stupid, inexperienced me bolted it up) think I fix the leak and put it back in. sure enough, it starts right up and I let it run for a few just to be sure there's no leak and still to my knowledge there isn't. So I get in the car, take it up the street, and without any warning, it dies. Just stops. I have no idea why!!!
Is it possible to cross the fuel lines that go into the tank? I thought they were size specific (the smaller hose won't fit on the bigger inlet) But if so would that be my problem. But why would it run for minutes and then die? Thanks in advance guys.

that I havn't done yet (it just happend like a half hour ago and its 2:30 in the morning) I don't see How I'd lose fuel pressure like that though, like I said, it ran for a few minutes, I started it up multiple times, and went up the street.
give us something to work with here? can you hear the pump spinning? if its not then check the relay first then if you hear it clicking you may have a bad contact on your pump. It happened to me.
yeah, I mean, it was honestly WORKING fine. I turned the key a few times after it died trying to get it to pump more fuel into thinking maybe it lost its prime or whatever going up a hill. But I had no luck. the pump is spinning fine, but no start.
welp, I pressed in the needle on the schrader valve, and we got fuel in the lines. So then we knew it had to be ignition problems. We checked, and I wasn't get spark at the plugs. I changed my ignition module on the distributor, I got spark at the coil, but no fire. So I tried an injector pulse test with a test light and AHA! No light! So that means the processer in the dizzy is cashed. So I'm just gonna replace the whole dizzy. I knew I didn't mess up on the fuel pump!
since this thread is about fuel pumps.. mine is really loud while idling... is that common or is that something to think about replacing the fuel pump?
ALSO: anyone know what the stock LPH is?
