Default clocking MAF

my friend has a 90 gt and his idle is all messed up how do you clock the MAF i have read that it helps the idle or is it something else?

Take a piece of masking take and make marks on it evenly spaced apart and wrap it around the intake hose. Make 1 mark on the mass air and start rotating the meter until you find the "sweet" spot. That's it, you're done.

If it's all stock I doubt very seriously it will have any affect.

What has he done to the car? Mods? Did this just start? Has he done anything to cause the problem? Need more info on the problem. Could be alot of things causing it.

hes got heads they were on the car when he bought it. it had a slight jump in the idle when he first got it now its just all over the place and sometimes stallls

Things to check,

Vacuum leaks, egr valve stuck open, dirty IAC motor, dirty throttle body. How does it run except for the idle?
