Default Rim question

Hi I was wondering what I can get away with as far as size for a 92LX Notch. My car has been lowered 1.5" and have stock ponies 16x7 with 245/50/16 tire. I am looking to purchase some rims and tires and was wondering of getting 17" rims will these work with my set up. Also what width will work....17x9 or 17x8 etc. and what size tires.
Just some other info....I noticed that my rear tires with the thickness i have are only a couple of inches away from my exhaust pipes.

you can fit 17x9's all around up front you may have a slight rub on a hard turn, as for the back you can fit a 275, sometimes with a little modding
