Upper Manifold(underneath)
Got yet another question concerning the install of my Edelbrock Performer RPM
Checked the instructions doesnt say really anything about this.
Well anyways, I noticed a buncha tubes on my stock Intake Manifold's Upper underneath it.
Now what I was doing when I was piecing things together I was just copying what I saw off the old setup.
Now what about this?
its like TWO completely different things underneath both.
Holes are in different places etc.
I know you're probably going to ask for a picture but I can't really help there...
But does anyone have ANY idea if they'd already installed this?
Thanks if anyone helps

where are the holes on the bottom?....are they facing they firewall or the front of the car? I have just recently put an Edelbrock Performer intake on my car. not sure if there is any difference between it and the RPM series.
Ok
there are 3 holes in the back of the manifold(facing the rear of the car)
They're close to the plenum cover.
also there are THREE what look like to be plugs
2 small near the egr plate
and 1 big underneath it

the three holes facing backwards are vacuum hose connections for the various vacuum sensors and users like the EGR valve, fuele pressure regulator, MAP sensor, brake booster, etc. you need to transfer the old fittings from the old upper to the new one so you can hook up the vacuum hoses like they were before the swap. there might also be some holes on the front side for more vacuum hoses, I know there were on my 88, not sure about your year, but look at the old upper and see what you have and then transfer these fittings to the new manifold upper.
if your old one doesn't have anything where the plugs are on the new one, just leave the plugs in and don't worry about them. use some teflon tape on the threads when you install the hose fittings so you get a good seal and no vacuum leaks.

Yea that's what I was going to do, just transfer them over.
But there are more hoses than holes and I don't know which go where because of different locations.
Ill see if i can snap some pics one sec
Egh, cant find the camera. So no pics

check for a decal under the hood showing the vacuum hose routing to the various users.

And there are no other stickers under the hood other than the Belt thing
no...but theyre still attached to the intake.
i know where the other hoses go that are still on the car itself.
heres a pic i tried to draw so u can kinda see what im looking at here
I think the three holes in the back of the new upper are for the vacuum hoses that were underneath the old upper, check the holes sizes and see if they are the same size as the old ones as far as the threads go and install the hose nipples in them if they fit and run the hoses to the places they belong. don't worry about the plugs for now.
