what to get
hey everybody! im new here if you cant tell. im 17 but i have a lot of driving experience. i bought a civic a while ago (big mistake) thinking it would be fast. now i want to get a mustang but i dont know much about them and what to look for and what to avoid. i think i want an 89 GT with a 5 speed. is that a good year? and also, what is a good price for that year and model? or should i look for a different year? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
87-93 are great years to buy them, and tipically the 5.0 engines in those cars hold up better than the 94-95 5.0 years. Any GT mustang 87-93 are pretty close in terms of look, and power plant, so they are all good choices. A good price for an 89 in good condition with minor modifications would probalby be somewhere in the 6k to 7k range if you do your homework. Check out the 94-95 body styles too and see what you think. But you cant go wrong with an 89GT, just be preparred to spend a bunch of $ on the mods you cant stop doing.

I guess it just deppends on what you can afford, but I would strongly recomend a 03 cobra, otherwise at least a 99+ GT
Good luck with your purchase and see you in that streets.
lol not everyone can afford a 99+ gt or cobra
gas mileage, it all depends on how you drive it. about 16+ normally though w/o mods and normal driving seems about right. have you looked at the notchbacks though? or any LX's? i recomend looking at those before you choose. They look perdy

yeah i cant stand civics. if i had known anything about cars i wouldnt have bought it. my first car was a 94 toyota truck, then i had an 89 bronco. i really like the bronco and figured id come back to ford for my next car.
