Default plug problem

i got new 9mm plug wires from ford racing for my '95, and i'm having a match-up issue with (i think its called) the coil wire. The wires that came with the kit are totally different than the existing wire...here's what i mean:

here is what it looks like right now:

here is what it looks like with the wire off:

here are the wires it came with (it came with two):

and here is what the shorter one looks like next to the original:

the shorter one (which is the right length) has a wierd connection that doesnt attach at all where the original was. the other long one has normal plug connections but its WAY too long and it doesnt have the plastic snap thing on it. i dont want to leave the crappy old one on there, what should i do?

that suxs.only thing i can think of is to take the end off of the long wire cut it down to the right size and put the end back on it.it will work w/o the snap cap.

He's right.
Take the boot off the long one open up the tabs if you can.
Then cut the wire to size... leave about 3/8 extra of the center core hanging past the end and fold it back and re-attach the metal tabs.

you got the plug wire set for the 87-93.

the long coil wire is correct for an 87-93, our coil is mounted on fender well

the super short wire you just throw away, that's
for ones with carbs.

i ordered it from summit, it didnt specify a year, it just said for a 5.0 or a 5.8, so i figured it would work OK. I didnt see anything that specified that it was for 87-93, but oh well, its too late now. I'll try to cut that one shorter, hopefully it works OK. I've never done it before, hopefully i dont screw it up. [:@]
