Default another gear post

OK I was out today talking to a guy about his fox body and we had got to mention gears and I told him I wanted a set of 4.10's for my 5spd.. and he said no.. for 2 reasons..

one I will end up with two much motor and not enough gear, and if I put a supercharger on it again to much overall power and power band and not enough gear to really use the power..

he had mentioned 3.53 or at the lowest 3.73's

what is your guys take on this?

Your bud is right. Although you could adjust the gearing w/ overall tire diameter.

Well when you say another gear post your right.....I've been thinking about getting gears to and from all the different post's I read and replied to....for manual trans either 3.55's or 3.73's. I personally going to go with if I ever do (money is limited and have to prioratize mods) is 3.55's cause I do some highway driving and my car is a D/D.

Well you could use 3.73's on highway just alittle more RPM's, and the 3.73's will be better at track than 3.55's.

ok so for mainly city driving, and drag racing. with the 5spd I should go with 3.73 and these will also be fine for when I add the supercharger?
