Default engine decision...

ok, im thinking about buying a 4 banger notch and putting in a new crate motor or the like, now what im wondering is what would be better for a street/strip car, but still get good gas mileage? im planning on getting afr heads 185cc, tfs street heat kit, bbk cai, underdrive pullies, bbk longtubes, bbk shorty h pipe, slp lm1's, 3:73 or 4:10 gears im not sure... all that good stuff.

thats what i was thinking since 90% of the parts are interchangable with the 5.0L 302.

Yea, and you can also build it for the same price. Its also more reliable than a 347, and has more cubes.... you cant beat it.

AND you have TONS more room to grow and the block is good for 600rwhp+

yup, and as the saying goes, theres no replacement for displacement! and i was thinking about buying it here, http://www.fordcobraengines.com/351W...elInjected.htm and since the 4 bangers come with a 7.7"? rear end, what else would i have to replace besides that and the driveshaft?

HELLLLLLL NO. Thats waaaay too expensive. I was going to have a 418W built by Ford Performance Solutions for almost the same price! It was a 418W, AFR 225's, Canton Pan, Custom Grind Cam, manifold (for carb motor), valve covers, timing chain, timing chain cover, etc. basically a crate motor w/ out the ignition and carb.

I would definetly build it yourself for a 1/3 of the price.
