Default Header and wheels help please

2 quickies:

Can I use the stock bolts connecting the stock headers to the stock H-pipe with a set of BBK 1 5/8th shorties? I bought them used without the H-pipe studs. Can I get them from a hardware store?

Next:

What is the biggest wheel/tire size I can fit on a 93 GT hatch? I tried a search but couldn't find a rim size, only tire. I need rims with minimum 5.75" backspacing, a 5x4.5" bolt pattern and they HAVE TO be 17x8 at the very least to allow for clearance. The problem is that most of the rims I like only come in 17x9 for the front and 17x10.5 for the rear and I don't know if those will fit without rubbing.

Thanks all!

your local speed shop has em. I took the headers to harware store and matched up the bolts, nuts and washer, very easy under$7

no stock header bolts will NOT work, see speed shop again for those small black bolts, and get a 1/4 swivel SOCKET for them.

yes you will catch hell sperating exhaust from old headers, try and presoak with rust penetrant, in my case hours of grinding.

actually aoe you are wrong the stock bolts that connet the headers to the h-pipe, will work on the new headers assuming you can get them loose. I used mine like that and i got different header bolts so i could get them in with no problems.
which headers did you get?

You could just a bolt that fits the header and just screw the bolt through the h pipe into the header and use a nut as a jamming nut

Well, I have 17x9 all the way around. They fit fine, the turning radius isn't that great, but when ever was it on the stangs. The wheels you like; why don't you get them in 17x9's in the rear and front. I doubt they only come in 17x9 and 17x10.5 setup. Usually if you ask, they will sell you 17x9's all the way around...

Well, I don't have a speed shop anywhere near me. Closest is like 150 miles away. Would they have the bolts at a hardware store that will fit right? They're BBK 1 5/8 unequal shorties.

Carjway, what is the widest tire I can put on the 17x9 in the front without rubbing? I probably won't get the widest... but I'd like a nice 235-245/40 or 45 in front.
